Leo Thomas Bordine, 66, longtime resident of this vicinity and only recently returned from a home in Albuquerque, N. M., died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday following an apparent heart attack suffered at his home. He was taken to the Memorial Hospital in an attempt to revive him. A native of Dennis, Kan., he was born Feb. 23, 1891. Bordine spent his early life and received his education in the Labette County schools. He worked there both in farming and in the oil fields, moving to Washington county in 1921. In 1939, he moved to California and during World War II, was employed both in aircraft and ship building construction on the west coast. During the past several years he had been a member of the Albuquerque Pipe Fitters Union, Local No. 312 and had been employed in construction work in that area. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Marie Bordine, of the home here, 1211 East Seventh Street; two daughters, Mrs. O. H. Landrum, Wichita, Kan.; and Mrs. Glenn H. Beair, Topeka, Kan.; three brothers, Frank K. Bordine, Los Angeles, Calif.; Andrew G. Bordine, Pasadena, Tex.; and Arthur A. Bordine, Wann, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. P. W. Mead, Thayer, Mo.; Mrs. Robert T. Clark and Mrs. Oren Riggs, both of Coffeyville, Kan. and four grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Arnold Moore Funeral Service.
