Walton----Lawrence Leslie Budine, 51, owner and operator of Budine's Taxi here since 1947, died Wednesday at The Hospital, Sidney, after an illness of four weeks. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Walton Methodist Church, with the Rev. Henry G. Lincoln officiating. Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery. Mr. Budine, born Dec. 9, 1900 at Dryden, was the son of Leslie and Viola (Gilbert) Budine. He married Mrs. Hazel Lakin on Feb. 2, 1921 at Walton. Mr. Budine, who served on the Walton police force for several years, has lived for eight years at 17 Howell St., this village. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a former Mason. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, living at 95 Mead St., here, are two sons, Pfc. Lawrence Budine Jr., home with an emergency leave from Korea, and James Budine, Walton; one step-son, Paul Lakin, Walton; five sisters, Mrs. Daisy Schriber, South Edmeston, Mrs. Tracy Brundage, Miss Eunice Budine, Schnectady, and Mrs. Elmer McAdams, Mrs. Frank Barlow, of Walton, and one brother, Gerdon Budine, Walton.
