Obituary, Walton (NY) Reporter of Jan 1928.
Found Dead in Bed...Nathan Budine, Pines Brook Farmer, Dies Wednesday. Nathan Budine of Pines Brook in the town of Walton was found dead in bed Wednesday morning. Mr. Budine on retiring Tuesday night appeared to be in good health. Wednesday morning when Mrs. Budine awoke she found that Mr. Budine, who was an early riser, had not built the fires or tended to the chores as was his custom. She went to his room and found that he had passed away during the night. Mr. Budine, who was 59 years of age, had spent his entire life on Pines Brook, where he had the respect and friendship of all in that neighborhood. Thirty-six years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Julia Christian. Three children were born to this union, two of whom, Rufus and Harland, survive; another son, Nathan, died several years ago.

Obituary, Binghamton (NY) Press of 3 Jan 1948.
Walton--Funeral arrangements will be completed today for Mrs. Julia Budine, 76, pioneer resident of Pines Brook Valley, Walton Township, who died at her home Thursday night following illness of four days. Mrs. Budine was a lifelong resident of Walton, where she was born Jan. 14, 1871. She was the widow of Nathan Budine. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Budine conducted a large dairy farm at top of a mountain range, between upper reaches of north fork of Pines Brook and Loomis Brook. Following Mr. Budine's death, she continued operation of the farm for several years, until its sale recently. The Budine farm was distinctive in that it possessed one of the few "round" barns in New York State. Mrs. Budine was one of two surviving charter members of the old Ariventist Church, founded years ago in Pines Brook Valley. The church has since become a community church.

Burials in Walton Cemetery, Walton, Delaware County, New York.
