Notes for: John (Johannes) Cozine

All the following info was sent to me by Sherron Westerfield (sherronw@searnet.com).

He and his wife had 4 children. Sons, Cornelius and William, were
baptized at Conewego Colony, PA.

John and his brother, Cornelius, Jr., and their nephew, Cornelius
(brother Peter's son), were among the signers of the Petition to
Congress, c1793, regarding KY independence.

John and his brother, Cornelius, Jr., were members of Henry Banta's
Company, 4th Battalion, York County Militia in 1784.

John and his wife, Hannah, to William King, Unrecorded deed possession
of Arthur Weaner dated 1 Apr 1794. Str Township. 167 acres 54 perches.
Out of Rev. Cornelius Cozine's "F" and "G" tracts.

He is listed in the 1800 Census in Mercer Co., KY.

His house was completed on 8 Oct 1806 on a 240 acre farm he purchased
25 Nov 1805. His home is still standing in 1997 and is but a short
distance from the Old Mud Meeting House.
