Willard Rowe Holland, 91, of Kenton passed away at 8:56 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Oakmonte Village in Lake Mary, Florida. He was born on December 9, 1923 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Willard and Elizabeth (Reefer) Holland. On January 25, 1946, he married LaVerne Bodine in the parsonage of the Immaculate Conception Church. They were married for sixty-nine years and she survives in Lake Mary, Florida. Willard is also survived by his children: Allen (Kathy) Holland of Chardon, Ohio, Dennis (Kathy) Holland of Connersville, Indiana, Lynn (Kenny) Paugh of Kenton, Ohio, Michael (Tammy) Holland of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Laura (Pat) Clifton of Altamonte Springs, Florida; seven grandchildren: David (Alex)Holland, Matt (Brooks) Holland, Brian (Rachel) Paugh, Kendra (Brian) Hicks, Chad Holland, Shanna (Kent) Barnes and Kaylynn (Jeremy) Ennis, 15 great-grandchildren, sister, Opal Jones of Greenville, PA and a sister-in-law, Bernice along with several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, John and Lauren also preceded him in death. Willard was a 1941 graduate of Kenton High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country during World War II in the European Theatre under General George Patton. He is also retired from Rockwell International in 1986 and was a life-long farmer. He enjoyed camping, fishing and boating. Following retirement he and his wife wintered in Ft. Myers, FL. Willard was a life-long member of the Immaculate Conception Church where he also served as Past-Grand Knight of the K of C Council 1597 and was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, the Kenton Elks Lodge #157, and Kenton Moose Family Center #428. A funeral mass for Willard Rowe Holland will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Jeff Tigyer officiating. Burial will follow the service in St. Mary's Cemetery with the AMVETS Post #1994 Honor Guard conducting graveside military rites. Visitation will be held 4:00-8:00 p.m Friday, November 13, 2015 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where the Rosary service will commence at 7:30 p.m., followed by the 4th Degree K of C service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior (9:00-10:00 a.m.) Saturday at the church.
