On 5 June 1917, John Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Franklin Township, Hunterdon County. He lived with his family in Franklin Township in 1930 employed as a carpenter.

Report of the marriage on 18 April of Miss Ida M. Garrison, dau. of Mr. and Mrs. William Garrison of Quakertown, and John Bodine, Jr., of the same place, at the home of the bride's parents by Rev. L. J. Gordon.

In 1942, he registered for the World War II draft as a resident of Quakertown.

Bodine, born 8 Oct 1886 in Quakertown, NJ, son of John and Katherine Bodine; husband of Bertha Niece Bodine; died 26 Sept 1962 in Easton, Northampton County; buried in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown. Informant was John D. Bodine of Quakertown.

Mrs. Bertha L. Bodine, 68, Fairview avenue, Milford, N.J., died today in Hunterdon Medical Center. She suffered a stroke two weeks ago and was admitted to the center yesterday. Mrs. Bodine was the wife of John R. Bodine. She was a former employee of the Frenchtown Porcelain Co. Born in Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Annie Compton Dalrymple. She resided in Milford the last 10 years. She was a member of Everittstown Methodist Church and the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the church. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Robbins and Mrs. Richard Stutz, both of Mount Pleasant, N.J., and Mrs. George Godown Jr., Milford; two brothers, Clifford Dalrymple, Hampton, and Lester Dalrymple, Frenchtown; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Niece, Milford; Mrs. George Gilman, Plymouth, N.H.; Mrs. Maude Stiers, Oxford, and Mrs. John Cifalo, Bangor; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Frenchtown.

John R. Bodine, 75, Quakertown, N.J., died yesterday at Betts Hospital, Easton. A lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, he was born near Quakertown, on Oct. 8, 1886, a son of the late John and Catherine Bodine. Mr. Bodine was a retired carpenter. His first wife was the late Ila Garrison Bodine. His second wife was the late Bertha Niece Bodine. He was a member of Quakertown Methodist Church and Flemington American Legion Post. He was a veteran of World War I. He served overseas in the Army. Surviving are two sons, Richard W. and John D., both of Quakertown; a sister, Mrs. Olive Osmum, Whitehouse, and five grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Holcombe Funeral Home, Flemington.
