William C. Bodine, 99, formerly of 937 W. Fifth St., died yesterday (March 1, 1961) in a hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a carpenter. Mr. Bodine was born in Sergeantsville and came to the Plainfield area at the age of 10. He worked with various lumber companies and builders, but stayed longest-30 years-with the Alexander Milne Company, builders. You have to keep working if you want to stay healthy." Mr. Bodine was a member of Local 155 of the Carpenters Union, and served as its president about 50 years ago. He also was a member of Trinity Reformed Church. Mr. Bodine was the husband of the late Mra. Laura MacDonald Bodine. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elsie M. Hammond of 111 Parkview Ave. and Mrs. Annie T. Miller of 1216 W. Fourth St.; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Lorenz A. Proli, pastor of Trinity Reformed Church, will officiate.
