OBITUARY
JOHN D. BODINE, 58, 1601 Second Street, died unexpectedly Wednesday night. He became ill at his home about 10:30 p.m. and died en route to the hospital. Born July 15, 1911 at Chancy, IL. he had been a resident here for 29 years. He was a mechanic and truck driver.
Survivors include the widow, Myron; three sons, N. Dale, Great Bend; N. Dean and LaForrest, both of Hermiston Ore.; daughters Mrs. Myrna Decker, Great Bend; LaDonna and Becky, both of the home; mother, Mrs. Carrie Gregory, Drumright, Okla.; brother, Harry of Hayward, Calif., sister, Mrs. Jack Waters, Torrence Calif., and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be announced later by Bryant and Fryburger Mortuary.
John died of a heart attack. He is buried in Great Bend Cemetery in Barton County, Kansas. His grave is located in section B, block 36, space 11. I believe the Cemtery in located at 4500 Broadway in Great Bend.

Survivors: sons, Dale, LaForrest, both of Great Bend, Dean of Rockwell, N.C.; daughters, Myrna Decker of Bixby, Okla., LaDonna Williams of Wichita, Becky Adair of Fort Knox, Ky.; brother, Fred Jarvill of Oregon; sisters, Eva Harmon, Carrie Evans, both of Calumet, Okla.; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren. Memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.

Myron A. Bodine, 82, died Feb. 17 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. She was born Sept. 1, 1916, at Calumet, Okla., the daughter of Thomas H. and Fannie L. Hill Jarvill. She married John D. Bodine Feb. 13, 1937, at Shidler, Okla. He died Aug. 20, 1969. A resident of Great Bend since 1942, Coming from Oklahoma, she was a retired cook chef for the Ralph Wallace Restaurant and American Legion. Mrs. Bodine attended First Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Survivors include three sons, Dale Bodine and LaForrest "Frosty" Bodine, both of Great Bend, and Dean Bodine of Rockwell, N.C.; three daughters, Myrna Decker of Bixby, Okla., LaDonna Williams of Wichita and Becky Adair of Fort Knox, Ky.; one Brother, Fred Jarvill of Oregan; two sisters, Eva Harmon and Carrie Evans, both of Calumet; 25 grand-children; and 32 great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bryant-Christians Chapel in Great Bend with the Rev. Joanna Norris Grimshaw officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend Cemetery with grave side services by American Legion Post 180 Auxiliary. Friends may call 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday and 1-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
