Notes for: Floyd Bodine
In 1920, Floyd was living with his wife Bessie and son Harold on North Wabash Street, Emmett Township, Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan. Floyd was a dyer and cleaner in a shop.

Floyd Bodine Dies; Aged 76
Floyd Bodine, 76 of 195 N. Wabash Ave., identified with the dry cleaning business here from 1908 until 1947 and the father of Dr. Harold R. Bodine, died this morning in a local hospital where he had been a patient since Dec. 3.
Mr. Bodine first entered business when he and a brother Frank and Gottfried Stuckle bought the Battle Creek Steam Dye Works from Gottlob Schweitzer. The Bodines sold thier interest to Mr. Stuckly in 1915 and then Frank and another brother George, established Bodine Cleaners at 36 N.E. Capital Ave. Floyd bought his brothers' interest in 1920 and continued as sole owner until his retirement in 1947.
A native of BAttle Creek, Mr. Bodine was born here Feb. 11, 1894, a son of Benjamin and Anne (Eastmead) Bodine. He was maried Feb. 3, 1910 to Bessie A. Harding who survives. They observed thier golden wedding anniversary this year.
Mr. Bodine was a member of Battle Creek Lodge, No. 12 F&AM.
In addition to his wife and the son, Dr. Bodine, of 396 Country Club Drive, Mr. Bodine is survived by a grandson; two brothers, George of Grand Rapids and William of Ypsilanti and a sister, Grace, of 171 N. Union St.
The body is at the Shaw Funeral Home.

Bessie A. Bodine, 104, of Sun City, a homemaker, died Aug. 13, 1989. She was born in Michigan. Survivors include her son, Dr. Harold; one grandchild; and a great-grandchild. There will be no services. National Cremation & Burial Society.
