Notes for: John T. Bodine

Elimsport Cemetery is in Washington Township, Lycoming Co., PA. There are three people buried under one monument: John T., Alice Comly, and Ralph C. Bodine. I imagine Ralph is John's son, but that's not for sure. Ralph's dates are December 19, 1900 to January 3, 1901. Also buried at Elimsport is a Samuel T. Bodine, his wife (I suppose) Helen J., and two infant sons: one unnamed and a Robert W. (1928-1929). Samuel T. could be John T.'s son, but that is just a guess.

A family groupsheet from Catherine Horman gives John's wife's name as Nancy Comey/Comly.

From Ronny Bodine:

In 1900, John and Nancy Bodine lived with their 2 sons in Renovo, Clinton County, Pennsylvania where John worked as a carpenter. He reported that in 10 years of marriage his wife had borne 2 children, both then living with them. In 1910, Nancy Bodine, now widowed, lived with her 2 sons in the home of her sister Catherine Comly in Washington Township, Lycoming County, in 1920-1930 she lived with her brother Samuel Comly in Watsontown, Northumberland County. John and Nancy Bodine were buried in Elimsport Cemetery, Lycoming County. The 1900 census recorded Nancy's birth date as Aug 1856, but her grave stone records 17 Jan 1859.

From Pennsylvania Death Certificate of Nancy Bodine, widow, born 19 Aug 1857 in Penn., dau. of Hunter & Mary (Oakes) Comly; died 7 Oct 1943 of "old age" in Washington Twp., Lycoming County and buried in Elimsport Cemetery. C. O. Bodine of Williamsport, informant.
