Notes for: Rebecca E. Apgar

Her name has been given as Sarah in some places. Maybe Sarah was the name of John's second wife, if he had one. I did have that Sarah E. Apker, John's wife was born on September 6, 1849 and died on August 29, 1930. This was based on "Johannes Peter Apgard & His Descendants," by the Apgar Association: 1984. There is also a Sarah E. Bodine (1849-1930) buried in the area of John W. Bodine. This could be a second wife. It appears that the Apgar family may have orignally been German.

Later information from the Best-Bodine files does confirm that John had two wives: Rebecca and her sister, Sarah. This info also says that Rebecca was born in 1847 and not 1850. No source is given.
