From Brick Reformed Church of Montgomery, Orange County, Marriages: 23 March 1837: Howard Bodine and Esther Y. Morum. Witnesses were Absolum Bookstaver & John Henry Wiltsie.

1840 Newburgh, Orange Co., NY: Howard BODINE m. 1(0-4), 3(20-29); f. 1(15-19), 1(20-29)

Howard Bodine does not appear in the 1850 census and was referred to as deceased in the June 1856 will of his mother. Elizabeth Bodine makes reference to "the children of my son Howard Bodine, Decd." and the probate names Howard Bodine as a minor who requires a Special Guardian. Another heir named in the probate is Emma Stiner of New York City, who, not being named in the will, must be another child of Howard Bodine.

New York City Directories list Esther Bodine, widow of Howard, seamstress, from 1857 to 1888. From 1876 to 1888 the directories list her residence as 267 West Houston.

1880 (1 June) New York City: Esther BODINE 66 NY widow, living at 267 West Houston St.

Ester Y. Bodine, widow, died in Manhattan, New York County, aged 75. Born in Montgomery, NY, dau. of Daniel & Mary Moran. Buried in Montgomery, NY.

BODINE.--On January 4, Esther, widow of Howard Bodine. Funeral services will be held at Franklin Street Methodist Episcopal Church, near Hudson st., this (Monday) evening, at half past seven o'clock. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will take place at Montgomery, N.Y.
