Notes for: Elizabeth Bodine
The sponsors at her baptism were Hieronimus Weller and Elizabeth Buchstaber.
From Ronny Bodine:
There is no surviving record of a marriage for this Elizabeth Bodine. However, one Elizabeth Bodine, wife of Adam Krans (bapt. 9 Sept 1753, Brick Reformed Church of Montgomery), were parents to the following four children, bapt. at the Brick Reformed Church:
Mary, bapt. 3 Aug 1779 to Adam Krans & Elizabeth Bodine
Susannah, bapt. 13 Jan 1782 to Adam Krans & Elizabeth Bodine.
Isaac, bapt. 13 Aug 1784 to Adam Crans & Elizabeth Bodine.
Catrina Elizabeth, born 28 Feb 1788 & bapt. 9 March 1788 to Adam Crans & Elisabeth Bodyn.
From Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of Shawangunk, Ulster County, Baptisms, 1750-1911:
Moses, born 31 Sep 1790 to Abram [sic] Crans & Elizabeth Bodyn.
Peter Bady, born 19 Nov 1792 to Adam Crans & Elizabeth Badyn.
Sally, born 8 March 1795 to Adam Crans & Elizabeth Badyn.
Elizabeth Bodyn, wife of Adam Cranse, was confirmed on 2 Nov 1793 at the RPDC of Shawangunk and Adam Crans of Montgomery joined by letter on the same day.
Since Elizabeth was bapt. in 1765, she would only have been 14 at the birth of her first child, unless she was born several years earlier. Her sister was born in 1756, but as she bore the same name, it is reasonable to assume she died soon after. It should be understood that there is otherwise no evidence that this Elizabeth, wife of Adam Krans, was identical with Elizabeth, daughter of Peter and Anna Bodine.
