Notes for: Ashby T. Bodine

From Ronny Bodine:

Ashby Bodine 6 in 1860. In 1880, A. T. Bodine, a grocery merchant, lived with his wife and son in Hannibal, Marion County, Missouri. By March 1895, Ashby Bodine lived in Longton, Elk County, Kansas. In 1900, Ashby T. Bodine, a farmer, lived with his family in Longton, Elk County. He reported he had been married for 23 years and that his wife Emma had borne 7 children of whom 5 were then living. In 1910, Ashber Bodine, age 58, still lived in Longton where he farmed. He reported that in 32 years of marriage his wife had borne 8 children, but only 4 lived. In Jan 1920, "Elina" Bodine, now widowed, lived in Longton with her son Russell and in April 1930, as Emma Bodine, age 76, lived with daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Joe Richardson in Longton. Soon after she moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she died later that year. Emma (Stone) Bodine was the daughter of James M. Stone. She was buried in Longton, Kansas. p. 332. Emma Clay Stone, born Nov. 9, 1853, married Ashby Bodine, of Hannibal, Mo., June 12, 1877, and now lives on a farm at Longton, Kas. Children: Russel G., born Oct. 22, 1878; William D., born June 15, 1881; Walton M., born Nov. 23, 1890; Letha Lillian, born Nov. 8, 1893; Nannie Marie, born Feb. 8, 1898.

Ashby Bodine was buried in Longton Cemetery, Longton, Elk County, Kansas.
