Frank A. Schroeter, 70, father of Frank B. Schroeter and of Mrs. Alexander Stork of Westfield, died in his home in Elizabeth on Wednesday night after an illness of five months. Mr. Schroeter was the son of the late George H. Schroeter, who was private secretary to King Frederick Wilhelm, of Prussia. During the revolution of 1848 the elder Schroeter was forced to flee to America. Mr. Schroeter's grandfather, Johann Heronomous Schroeter, was royal astronomer to the royal court of Germany. Surviving Mr. Schroeter are his widow, Mrs. Fannie B. Schroeter; a son, Frank B. Schroeter, of Westfield; a daughter, Mrs. Alexander Stork, of Westfield, and two brothers, George H. Schroeter, of Oxford, Minn., and Frederick Schroeter of Parsons, Kan. Mr. Schroeter was born in Paterson and lived in Elizabeth 28 years. For 24 years he was employed in the elevator department of the Travelers' Insurance Company, in New York City. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth.

Scotch Plains---Mrs. Fannie Bodine Schroeter, 81, died Saturday evening (Nov. 9, 1940) following a long illness, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. S. A. Stork, 208 Williams St. Mrs. Schroeter was the daughter of Gen. Robert L. Bodine, a Civil War commander, and her people were among the original settlers of Bucks County, Pa., as well as early settlers of Philadelphia. A native of Bucks County, Mrs. Schroeter had made her home in Scotch Plains for the past 11 years. She formerly resided in Elizabeth. Besides her daughter, Mrs. Schroeter is survived by a son, Frank Schroeter, 630 North Ave., Westfield, and by one brother, Robert L. Bodine, Amherst, Mass. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. tomorrow in Gray's Funeral Home, Westfield, with the Rev. Dr. William K. McKinney, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Westfield, and the Rev. Don Ivan Patch, pastor of the Congregational Church of Westfield, officiating. Burial will be in Doylestown Cemetery, Doylestown, Pa.
