Notes for: Daniel Bordine
He was unmarried and died in the Civil War. I put that he died about 1864, but that is a complete guess. It could have been anywhere between about 1861 and 1865. Cheryl Bordine Meixner did pick up a Daniel Bordine from an official roster of soldiers from the state of Ohio. He was in C Company, 38th Infantry Regiment, Ohio. He was killed in Jonesboro, Georgia on September 1, 1864. She thinks his military records might be interesting. I'd agree. Karen Bordine said he was born 1834 in New York.
From Ronny Bodine:
He was aged 15 in 1850. Daniel Bordine enlisted at age 25 on 25 Aug 1861 as a Private in Company C, 38th Ohio Infantry (USA). He was killed in action at the Battle of Jonesboro (Ga.), the last battle of the Atlanta Campaign, on 1 Sept 1864 and was buried at Marietta National Cemetery, Marietta, Ga. His grave marker reads Dan'l Bordine. He was one of 10 men from his company to die from the action on 1 Sept 1864.
