On 5 June 1917, Brenner Chester Niles registered for the World War 1 draft in Hartford County, Connecticut. He reported he was born 25 Dec 1888 in Alburg, Vermont, was married with 3 children and worked as Assistant Foreman with the Colt Fire Arms Manufacturing Company. Rosamond Niles died of a cardiac arrest and was entombed in Oak Hill Cemetery, Bellows Falls. In 1920, Brenner Niles lived with his family in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts where he worked as a toolmaker at the U.S. Armory. In 1930, he appears as Bernard C. Niles living in Burlington, Chittenden County, Vermont where he was proprietor of a garage.
In 1940, Rosamond Niles, age 51, was living with her widowed father in Bellows Falls, Vermont. It was recorded she was married. Her former husband, Brenner C. Niles, 51, lived with his 2nd wife, Mildred, in Watervliet, Albany County, NY.

Brenner Chester Niles, 24, born Alburg Springs, VT AND Rosamond Onita Bodine, 24, born Monroe, NY, daughter of William H. Bodine (born Crawford, NY) and Florence Stoddard (born Walkill, NY) were married 27 Feb 1912 in Rockingham, by Walter R. Davenport, Methodist Episcopal Minister.

The funeral of Brenner C. Niles of 7 Holly Lane was held at 11 a.m. toay from the Barthel Funeral Home, 21 Purteil Ave., with Rev. Luther A. Patton, pastor of Calvary Methodist Church, officiating. Friends of the family acted as bearers. Interment was in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, Mass., with Mr. Patton officiating.
