DURAND--Mrs. George (Laura) Norton died Tuesday about 9 a.m. in a Brodhead nursing home after a long illness. She was born March 12, 1869, in Harrison Township to the Rev. and Mrs. William Bodine. She married George Norton in Durand Dec. 28, 1892. Mrs. Norton was a member of the Bethel Community Church. Surviving are: her husband; two sons, Stanley of Rockford and Donald at home; two daughters, Mrs. Effie Recoy of Freeport and Mrs. Ethel Polukey of Durand; one sister, Miss Arthusa Bodine of Rockford; 20 grandchildren and 35 grea-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. (CST) in the Bethel Community Church. The Rev. Elmer Johnson of Rockford will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapin Funeral Home.
