FamilySearch listed her last name as Lusader. I haven't found good proof of anything on this, but unless something turns up, the spelling is probably Lewsader. That's the way the family has it.
Jan Bodine said the 1920 Census verifies Gertrude as being born about 1884. She also has her death date listed as 05 JAN 1948 in Fountain Co, IN - buried in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington.
The following story came from Marvin Bodine, though his daughter-in-law Jan Bodine:
When Elbert Franklin Lewsader came to the Bodine home to inform Gertrude (Lewsader) Bodine of the death of her mother, Laura Lucetta (Harris) Lewsader-Rabb, Gertrude became extremely upset about the death of her mother as well as how her inheritance had been handled. She opened her mouth to say something and she simply dropped dead on the spot. Dorothy Bodine (Marvin and Dorothy were living with Paddy and Gertrude) performed CPR on Gertrude for so long that she developed blisters on her hands. Gertrude's funeral was held in Covington, and her mother's body was returned to Covington for her funeral as well - both women were in the same funeral home for visitation at the very same time.
