Notes for: Henry F. Bodine

He is listed as Henry T. Bodine in the 1860 Census of Tioga Co., PA. He later moved to Billings, Montana.

From Ronny Bodine:

Henry Bodine was living from 1900 in Billings, Montana. That year, he was proprietor of a book and cigar store. In 1910 and 1920 he was apparently unemployed. He never married. His age varied with the censuses. In 1900, his birth date was given as Nov 1855, clearly incorrect, as in 1850 he was 9 months old, in 1870 was aged 20 and living with his father in Wellsboro, and in 1920 was age 62.

Obituary, The Billings (MT) Gazette of Wednesday, 2 June 1920.
Funeral services for Henry F. Bodine, former Billings merchant, who died Sunday at Warm Springs from a complication of diseases, will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at Smith's funeral chapel. Mr. Bodine, who was 71 years old, made his home in this vicinity since 1890, when he came west from Pennsylvania to settle in Laurel. He conducted a large mercantile business in that city and following a trip to Alaska entered into the jewelry business in Billings. He was for a number of years associated with W. B. George in the real estate business and for three years served as deputy humane officer. Two months ago Mr. Bodine went to Warm Springs in an effort to regain his fast-failing health. His closest relative is a niece who lives in Pennsylvania.
