On 5 Sept 1864 at Ovid, NY, Thaddeus Bodine, age 34, born in Ovid, N.Y., a lawyer, enlisted and the next day was mustered in as a Private in Company E, 148th New York Infantry Regiment and was discharged on 22 June 1865 at Richmond, Virginia. In June 1870, brothers Thaddeus, 40, and Edward P. Bodine, 22, lived in Franklin House, a hotel in Ovid, Seneca County. Thaddeus was noted as a lawyer and justice of the peace and Edward sold musical instruments. In June 1880, Sarah A. Bodine, age 30 and widowed, lived in Seneca Falls with her 4-year old son Goyn.

Mr.Thaddeus Bodine, a well known and highly esteemed residentof the town of Ovid died early Friday morning last from the effects of a stroke of paralysis, which occurred some days since. He was a member of the legal profession and has resided in Ovid from early boyhood. An extended circle of friends and acquaintances will mourn his sad and sudden death. He leaves a wife and one child.

The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle of Friday, 11 April 1890 reported the marriage of William Harvey and Sarah Hoyt Bodine the previous night at St. James Church.

Mrs. Sarah Amanda Hoyt Bodine, wife of William Harvey, suddenly entered into life eternal May 30, 1920. A service was held on Tuesday evening at the home, No. 15 Athens Street, Rochester, N.Y., and on Wednesday morning the remains were brought to Hayts Corners, and in accordance with the wishes of the deceased, services were held in Calvary Episcopal church, the rector of St. James church, Rochester, Rev. James C. Gairdner and Rev. C. W. MacNish of Ovid, N.Y., officiating. Burial was made in the family plot at Ovid. Mrs. Harvey is survived by her aged husband and a large circle of friends and relatives. Mrs. Harvey was a devout churchwoman, and ever retained her interest in Calvary church at Hayts Corners, it being her custom to send flowers for the alter at Easter. She presented a handsome cross as a memorial to her son Goyn, who preceded her to that better land more than thirty years ago. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord; even so saith the spirit for they rest from their labors and their works do follow them."
