Notes for: Louis French Bodine

According to the article in the South Jersey Magazine, he was from Toms River, New Jersey. Louis is the one who wrote the article about the Bodine Glass Works in Williamstown. The IGI says he died on April 5, 1907. Some information may have said that this Louis Bodine was born on June 3, 1857, but Louis himself said he was born on March 21, 1860 in a genealogy paper he wrote up on his Bodine family. The census data below and the fact that a genealogical article on this family was written by this Louis himself, giving his own birth date, would make me believe that these dates are reversed or just incorrect.

I read that he was a resident of Newark, New Jersey.

From Ronny Bodine (April 6, 2022):

Louis Bodine, age 10 per the census, was living with his parents 1870 in Monroe Township, Camden County. On 23 May 1907, Mary L. Bodine, widow of Louis Bodine, signed a deed for property in Burlington County as an heir of J. Alfred Bodine. (Burlington Co. Deeds, 421: 440) Mary (Graw) Bodine was the daughter of Rev. J. B. Graw.

The will of Louis F. Bodine, of Newark, New Jersey, civil engineer, was written 9 Nov 1897 and proved 16 April 1907. His wife Mary Louise Bodine was appointed executor. It was noted in the probate that the testator died on 5 April 1907. (Philadelphia Wills, 301: 590-591)
