Notes for: Lydia Bodine
Thomas Bodine of Arab, Alabama has a family picture in which it appears that Lydia's right leg is missing. She has a crutch beneath the folds of her dress.
From Ronny Bodine:
From Marshall County, Alabama Marriage Records:
Henry Moon AND Lydia Bodine were married 21 Jan 1877 at Margath Bodine's by Elder C. Faris.
Elder Henry Moon was born Jan 20, 1858. He was a member at Brown's Creek Church for many years. We find no account of Elder Moon being licensed, but he was ordained (a minister of the Primitive Baptist Church) in 1904. Besides Brown's Creek, Elder Moon pastored Siloam, Zion Hill, and was associate pastor of other churches. After the Sand Mountain Association was organized in 1917, Elder Moon moved his membership to Ephesus. He died in Jan 1941. (Watts, Ethridge B. "A History of the Primitive Baptists of Alabama," vol. 1, The Christian Baptist Pub. Co., Atwood, TN, 1979, p. 179.)
In 1900, Lydia Moon reported she had borne 10 children of whom 9 were living. In 1910, she had borne 11 children of whom 10 were then living.
