His tombstone says he died on Sep. 29, 1872 in his 64th year.

In 1845/50, John Bodine moved his family to Pennsylvania and settled in the North Mulberry Ward of Philadelphia County, engaged there as a merchant. Later, he returned to Burlington County. Mary Bodine was living 1880 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her son George. John Bodine died of typhoid fever and was buried in the Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery in Pemberton Township, Burlington County. Although he died in Philadelphia, his death was recorded in the Burlington County Death Records as having died in Philadelphia. Mary (Imlay) Bodine wa sthe daughter of Peter and Catherine (Hendrickson) Imlay.

The will of John F. Bodine, of Philadelphia, was written 11 Feb 1865 and proved 7 Oct 1872. It named his wife Mary Ann Bodine and 2 children, but only son George I. Bodine, by name. Mary Ann and George Bodine were appointed executors. (Philadelphia Wills, 76: 64-65)

BODINE.---On the 29th ult., JOHN F. BODINE, in the 64th year of his age. Religious services at his late residence, No. 1306 Arch street, on Wednesday, at 12 o'clock, to which the relatives and friends of the family are invited. Funeral to proceed to Pemberton, N.J., by the 2:15 train.
