From Ronny Bodine (June 10, 2020):
Vinson Bodine was named in his father's will of 10 May 1836 and proved 14 June 1836. Sinnott's "Annals..." p. 167 report that "Vincent Bodine migrated north and is thought to have died in Canada without issue." However, this statement may not be entirely accurate. Perhaps Vincent Bodine did migrate north, but subsequently located in Peoria County, Illinois where, in Nov 1850, a Vincent Bodine, age 52, a native of New Jersey, lived with his wife and 8 children. Based upon where his children were born, Vincent Bodine lived in New Jersey into 1842 and by 1844 had relocated to Illinois. The details concerning this Vincent Bodine and his descendants are based upon the assumption that Vincent Bodine, son of James and Gertrude Bodine, is identical with Vincent Bodine to settled in Peoria County, Illinois.
The 1830 and 1840 census of Elizabethtown, Essex County, New Jersey records the presence of Vincent Burdine. The family in 1830 consisted of 2 males and 2 females and in 1840 consisted of 5 males and 2 females in the following age groupings, which match precisely those of Vincent and Louisa Berdine and their children:
1830 males 1(1791-1800) Vincent 1799, 1(1826-1830) Jacob 1829; females 1(1801-1810) Louise 1807, 1(1826-1830) Elizabeth 1827.
1840 males 1(1791-1800) Vincent 1799, 1(1826-1830) Jacob 1829, 2(1831-1835) John 1831, Vincent 1834, 1(1836-1840) George 1836; females 1(1801-1809) Louise 1807, 1(1826-1830) Elizabeth 1827.

His wife, Louise Seiple, daughter of Jacob John and Elizabeth (Scheib) Seipel was likely born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania where her parents had married in 1801. Probate files are on record in Peoria County, Illinois for Vincent Berdine (no. 1779) and Louisa Berdine (no. 3191).
"Portrait and Biographical Album of Sedgwick County, Kansas" [Chapman Bros., 1888], p. 1025 in a detailed biography of their son George W. Berdine, writes:
Vincent and Louise (Seiple) Berdine, the parents of our subject, left their home in New Jersey about 1840, and took up their abode on a tract of land in Trivoli Township, Peoria Co., Ill., where the father occupied himself as a tiller of the soil until resting from his earthly labors, in 1879. The mother survived her husband only eight years, her death taking place in the spring of 1887. Of their nine children the record is as follows: The eldest daughter, Elizabeth, became the wife of James Shearer, and is now a resident of Kansas City, Mo.; Jacob S. is farming in Hancock County, Ill., and John is similarly occupied near Farmington, that state; Vincent is in Brown County, Tex.; George W., of our sketch, was the fourth child; Martin during the late war served as a Union soldier in Company B, 86th Illinois Infantry, and was killed on the battlefield of Chickamauga; Walter J. is a traveling manager for the Rushford wagon-works, at Louisville, Ky., and has his residence in that city; Albert F. resides in Iowa, and Ellen M., in Peoria, Ill.
In addition, "Portrait and Biographical Album of Fulton County, Illinois" (Biographical Publishing Co., Chicago, 1890), p. 328-329, contains a biography of Isaac F. Randolph, whose daughter Mary married Vincent Berdine's son Jacob. Mr. Randolph was also a native of New Jersey and may have located to Peoria County, Illinois at the same time as Vincent Berdine. It notes he was born in Rahway, New Jersey on 29 March 1811 and "...Mr. and Mrs. Randolph made their home on farms in Elizabeth and New Market, N. J., until 1839, at which time they removed to Illinois, making the journey in a wagon. This trip, though long and tiresome, was quite enjoyable owing to the fact that three other wagons filled with relatives of Mr. Randolph came with them. They started from New Jersey in November, and did not reach Farmington until January 3, 1840. Mr. Randolph bought land in Trivoli Township, Peoria County..."
Burials in Brunswick Cemetery, Trivoli Township, Peoria County.
