Ethelyn "Jean" Bodine, of Lakeside, Navajo County, Arizona passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, July 21, 2018. She was born on Saturday, December 13, 1930 in Epps, West Carroll Parish, Louisiana to Richard and Susie Irene (Bass) Williams. Jean attended Chandler High School where she met Raymond Bodine in 1946, On March 7, 1947 the two went to the Yuma Courthouse where they obtained their marriage certificate at 5 minutes to midnight, and at 5 minutes after midnight on March 8th they were married. They were known to celebrate both days, every year for the past 71 years. The couple made their home in Chandler, they mere Missionaries on the Papago and Pima Reservations. After a while, they moved to California where Raymond became an automotive teacher for about 15 years before they returned back to Arizona. In 1991 they moved back to Arizona retiring in the Lakeside area. Jean had many fine traits, she was a homemaker that loved to crochet, she crocheted many doilies; she loved to read and she would make sure that Raymond, or whom ever may be near knew what she was reading, as she loved to read out loud. One of the best remembrances of Jean will be that she was a master pie baker, she made the best Coconut Cream Pie and when ever there was a gathering she would hear, "Jean bring the pie". Jean is survived by her husband, Raymond of 71 years; daughter, Marsha Bodine; grandson, Zackary Middleton, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Middleton in 2006. Graveside Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 25th at the Show Low City Cemetery with Pastor Steven Hair officiating.
