Notes for: Andrew Jackson Bodine

From Ronny Bodine:

For some inexplicable reason, Andrew Bodine does not appear in the 1880 census with his parents. Andrew Bodine was living 1900 with his brother John in Galena, Jasper County, Missouri. In 1910, the Bodine family was living in Walker County, Texas, in 1920, in Wilbarger County, Texas where A. J. Bodine worked as a farm laborer and in 1930 as a refinery machinist. Lula Bodine was the daughter of James Marion and Virginia (Dees) Leveritt.

From the Texas Death Certificate of Andrew Jackson Bodine, married, son of John L. & Celia (Sarters) Bodine, born 5 March 1872 in Whitewright, Texas; died 5 Dec 1942 in Electra, Wichita County; buried in Electra. Informant was J. R. Bodine of Elm Springs, Arkansas. Resident of Electra for 22 years.

Logansport, Aug. 29 (Special).---Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Logansport Baptist church for Mrs. Lula Viola Bodine, 62, who died Sunday morning at the home of her son, O. E. Bodine, after an illness of several years. The Rev. W. Leon Ivey, pastor, conducted the rites. She is survived by five sons, O. E. Bodine of Logansport, C. P. Bodine of Vinton, E. D. Bodine of Galveston, Texas, P. T. Bodine of the merchant marine, and J. R. Bodine of San Francisco, Calif., one brother, W. A. Leveritt of Electra, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Driskill of Fort Worth, Texas.
