Notes for: Abigail Bodine

This Abigail could be the Abigail who was born on September 24, 1803 in East Tennessee. There seem to be quite a few mistakes in whose children and wives belonged to whom in this line. I have also found an Abigail Bodine who was born March 17, 1811 in Tennessee. She died May 29, 1884 in Jefferson County, Illinois. She married Alexander Moore. He was born in Tennessee and moved to Jefferson County about 1840.

From Ronny Bodine:

Abigail Bodine is a probable daughter of James Bodine. Alexander and Abigail Moore are buried in the Black Oak Ridge Cemetery, Webber Township, Jefferson County. The biographical sketch of their son, Thomas F. Moore, contained in the History of Jefferson County (W.H. Perrin, Chicago: Globe Pub. Co., 1883, p. 76, 372-373) states Alexander Moore brought his family to Jefferson County in 1840, where he was among the pioneers of Webber Township and a large stock raiser.

End of info from Ronny.

The next three paragraphs came from a query somewhere, but I don't know where now:

Alexander was a Pioneer of Webber Township, south of Farrington. Their known children were Martha Jane and Thomas Franklin. Other possible children are an Alexander, Jr., and a John who was to have been an attorney in Kingfister, Oklahoma. This John could have been a brother to Alexander.

Martha Jane Moore was born October 10, 1829 in Tennessee and died March 12, 1912 in Morris Illinois at the home of her son, James. She is buried in the Flint Cemetery in Belle Rive, Illinois. These came from Jonathan Catron's probate in Jefferson County, Illinois.
