Notes for: Andrew J. Bodine

In the Census of Hopkins County, Texas taken on September 15, 1860 (Charleston Post Office), it appears, though it is difficult to read, that Andrew was 49 years old. This would make his birth year about 1811. His wife is listed as being from Kentucky. That could have been a mistake since I had her as being from Illinois. Her name there was "July Ann." Someone told me that this Andrew was the son of James Bodine, Jr. and a Sarah _________. No proof was given.

I later found a marriage record for Andrew Bodine and Julia Ann Rames in the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index 1763-1900. I am guessing that that Julia Ann is this Julianne. More proof is needed, though.

From Ronny Bodine:

Their 1839 marriage record records the names as Andrew Bodine and Julia Ann Rames. The Andrew Bodine family was living 1850 (as Andrew Bodina) in Pulaski County, Missouri and 1860 in Hopkins County, Texas. In 1870, Julia Bodine was living in Grayson County, Texas and in 1880 in Camden County, Missouri in the home of her niece, Sarah Cullen. July Bodine was buried in Bodine Cemetery on the Bill Buckner Farm near Sunset, Texas.
