Notes for: Ann (or Jane) Bodine

This information comes from the Charles Fox book on the Joseph Fox family. The Samuel Bodine Bible did not have an Ann listed. So this might be either the Jane or the Lovina listed in the Bible. The IGI has a Jane Bodine born on February 12, 1811. At first, I assumed this was Jane, but that may not be correct. The Ann listed in the Fox book was born in 1811 and died in 1860. The book also says that (following Thomas' death) the 1850 Ross County, Ohio Census shows Ann was committed to the "poorhouse" listed as "crazy" because she lost her property.

The 1830 Wayne County, Ohio Census shows a female aged 20-30 named Ann. If that is true, then Ann would have to be either Nancy or Sarah since Jane would have only been 19 at the time of the census. Or a mistake was made. A look at the census could help clear this up.

The Fox book says that there are no records to show that Ann and Thomas had any offspring. A step-son, Otis Eldridge, was listed in the 1860 Census of Edgar County, Illinois. He was married to a Catherine _________. They had seven children. Maybe he got the property (???).
