Notes for: Deborah ("Debbie") Jane Jacobson
The following comes from Gail Jacobson at WorldConnect:
Debbie worked most of her life at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND as a registered nurse. She grew up on the reservation at Ft. Yates, ND. One of the biggest things in her life was the move to Underwood, ND. Everyone in Underwood had blonde hair and looked pale. Underwood was a completely different way of life.
A favorite memory for Debbie are the trips to Perley, MN to visit her grandmother. She remembers "helping" Uncle Birger & Uncle Henry staple the baskets for the strawberries, the swinging bridge, holding the cow's tails during milking, the electric fence, and so many other things. Debbie and her dad were always close. She helped him in the store in Underwood by candling eggs and many other chores. She became closer to him when she started helping him in the store. She has many good memories of him. When Jacob died in 1956 of a cerebral aneurysm, it was a very big loss to everyone in the family.
