Notes for: Robert M. Bodine
I did not have a wife for this Robert M. Bodine. However, I found some Bodines buried in the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery (on Asbury Road in Hunterdon County, New Jersey) who must be this family. I am just guessing, though, so further proof is needed. Also buried in the cemetery was a Naomy Bodine. I wonder if this isn't Robert's mother, but that is a complete guess. She died on August 15, 1862 at the age of 73 y, 6 m, 9 d. She would have been born abou February 6, 1789. The death date on the stone is Feb. 1789.
His son Frank's obit gives his father's name as "Robert A. Bodine" I think.
From Ronny Bodine:
In Jan 1865 in Bethlehem, Washington Township, Warren County, Robert Bodine married ____ Lake. The first name of the bride was unrecorded. (Warren Co. Marriages, Vol. AH: 265) In 1880, Robert Bodine lived in Franklin Township, Warren County, New Jersey with his wife and 3 children. In 1900, he lived there still with his wife and 2 children and reported he was a farmer and that in 34 years of marriage his wife had borne 3 children, all of whom were then living. On that census his birth was reported as Oct 1836 and that of his wife as April 1840 which conflicts with the dates on their grave markers in Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hunterdon County, New Jersey of 25 Nov 1836 for Robert and 7 April 1837 for his wife. In 1910, Elizabeth Bodine, now widowed, lived in Franklin Township with her son, Frank, grandson and niece.
From New Jersey Death Records:
