The birth of Edward Bodine in Bordentown in September 1858 was recorded in the Burlington County Birth Records. Edward Bodine, age 21 and single, was living 1880 with his parents in New Brunswick, Middlesex County. In the New Brunswick City Directory of 1886-1887, Edward Bodine was employed as an insurance agent and living with his father and brother James in a house on the corner of George and Albany Sts. Edward Bodine took over the business of his brother James who had died in May 1888. The New Brunswick Daily Times of 7 Feb 1889 in an announcement reported "Mr. E. M. Bodine will continue the drug business at the old stand, corner of George and Albany streets, as will be seen by his advertisement. Mr. Bodine is agent for the popular Huylar confections. He also has a fine line of imported and domestic cigars." Edward Bodine survived the death of his mother as in her newspaper obituary it was reported she was survived by three sons and two daughters. Out of her five sons, two were deceased, leaving Humphrey, Edward and Henry Bodine as the three surviving sons.

Troy, June 25--Funeral services for Edward Bodine, 78, who died Friday morning at 6 a. m. in the Miami county home, will he held Monday at 10 a. m. in the Fisher funeral home and burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Rev. L. R. Kennard will officiate. Mr. Bodine, who had resided in the Miami county home since 1933, was born in New Jersey, the son of Joseph and Eleanor Bodine. He was a resident of Piqua for a number of years where he was a drug salesman. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Catherine Hassforther of Bloomsfield, N. J.
