Joseph Bodine remained unmarried and lived with his mother and was employed as a machinist. He died of consumption. See his obituary in the "New Jersey Mirror" of 2 June 1886. The will of Joseph R. Bodine, of Mount Holly, was written 24 June 1884 and proved 10 June 1886. There was a bequest of $65 to Mount Holly Methodist Episcopal Church in memory of "my good mother." Also, bequests to cousins Hannah Birch, Jeannette J. Hamilton and Annie M. Martin, and Mary Atkinson and uncles Joseph W. Atkinson and Thomas T. Bodine. The executor, Charles Evan Merritt, is to erect suitable tombstones on the graves of his mother and himself and to erect a plain and suitable fence around the grave. (Burlington Co.
