Notes for: Sarah Ann Bodine
She is twenty-eight years old in the 1850 Census (NJ). She was listed as being 40 years old in the 1860 Census and was still at home. In the 1880 Census, she was single and 60 years old, living with her brother, Stephen. It looks like she never married.
From Ronny Bodine:
Sarah Bodine was counted twice in the 1860 census. On 3 July 1860 she was living with her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Samuel Deacon in Delanco, Burlington County, where she worked as a tailoress and on 31 Aug 1860 she was counted living with her parents and working as a seamstress. In 1870, she was living with her parents, working as a dressmaker and 1880 lived with her brother Stephen Bodine in Burlington County. She never married. A fire on 27 Dec 1903 destroyed her home. She escaped unharmed but the family bible was lost in the fire. In April 1910, as Sallie A. Bodine, age 91, she was boarding with Ellen and Susie McSorley in Mount Holley. Her death at age 92 was reported in the "New Jersey Mirror" of 31 May 1911.
