Notes for: Charles Agustus Bodine
He was seventeen years old in the 1850 Census. I thought this was the Charles Bodine, who was 50 years old, in the 1880 Census of Stow Creek, Cumberland Co., NJ, but this must not be him. That Charles was listed as a wheelright in 1880 and he was married to a Hannah E. who was about 47 and born in New Jersey as were her parents.
This is the Charles A. Bodine buried in the Methodist Cemetery in Pemberton, NJ. He is listed as having died on October 26, 1857. The NJ Mirro of Oct. 29, 1857 says he died on Oct. 25 at about 24 years old in Pemberton. His wife is listed with him on the graveyard transcription as Sallie Heisler Bodine. She died July 20, 1880. The NJ Mirror of Aug. 4, 1880 says she died on that date in Pemberton.

Charles Bodine served as Clerk for Pemberton Township, 1855-1857. Sarah Bodine was living 1880 in Pemberton Township in the home of her mother. Charles and Sallie Bodine were buried in Pemberton Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery. See their obituaries in the "New Jersey Mirror" of 29 Oct 1857 and 4 Aug 1880.
