Notes for: Francis Bodine
At first, I only had Elisha and David listed as their children. Family group records from Donald Roach gave me the rest of these names, dates, and spouses. This is probably the Francis Bodine listed on the 1830 Census of Sycamore Township, Hamilton County, Ohio (page 204). Betty Roach has a copy of his will (1849). This will is in Hamilton County, Ohio. The references I saw were wb11 p57,cA591. There is also something for a John W. Bodine in Hamilton County (reference cA590).
His son, William A. Bodine, is in the 1880 Census of Jackson, Rush Co., IN. He is 86 and born in New York. He is listed as a farmer. The census gives his parents' birth place as New Jersey, both for his father and mother. So this Francis and his wife, Matilda, may have been born in New Jersey and not New York. This needs more checking. I looked later at the census info for son, Marcus, in Columbia, Hamilton Co., OH. He says both of his parents were born in New York.
From Ronny Bodine:
Francis Bodine was bapt. 12 Aug 1764, in Hebron Lutheran Church, Orange County. This is probably the Francis Bodine listed on the 1830 Census of Sycamore Township, Hamilton County, Ohio (page 204). Francis and Hannah Bodine were buried in Hopewell Cemetery, Montgomery County, Ohio.
From Brick Reformed Church of Montgomery, Orange County, Baptisms 1734-1859:

The will of Francis Bodine of Hamilton County was written 21 Feb 1845 and therein named his sons Elisher, David, William, Stephen, Selah and Marcus; and daughters Mary Ann Hunter, Jane Snider, Charlotte Constable, Susan Milsaugh, Emily Constable and Fanny Kincely. With the exception of son Stephen, all children received only one dollar. Sons Selah and Marcus Bodine were appointed executors. The will was proved 1 June 1849.
