In 1900, John Bodine and his family lived in Dallas County next door to his brother Isaac Bodine and his family. John and Mary Bodine reported that in 8 years of marriage, Mary had borne 3 children, all then living with them. The family engaged in farming. In 1910, the family lived in Tarrant County and reported that in 18 years of marriage 4 children had been born, all living with them. In 1920, the family now lived in Gray County. Only James, their youngest son, remained with them. In 1930, John and Mary Bodine lived in McLean, Gray County where John worked as a high school janitor.
