LAKELAND -- Mr. James E. Berdine of Lakeland died Thursday (Dec. 3, 1998) at home. He was 55. Born in Valparaiso, Ind., on Aug. 10, 1943, he moved to Lakeland from Murphy, N.C., in 1997. He was a Navy veteran. He was an independent automobile salesman and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Berdine. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Arthur Van Camp, Murphy; brother, William Berdine, Lowell, Ind., and sister, Mary T. Martin, Lowell. A memorial Mass will be at noon Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Marcum Road, Lakeland. Choice Cremation and Funeral Care, Lakeland.
