Report of the wedding of Clarence Berdine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Berdine AND Miss Clara Marie McCarty, of Pontiac, Illinois, on 28 August at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Berdine and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Berdine and son Edward Jr. were in attendance.

In Aug 1943 she reported her name was Clara Berdine Baldwin, in Dec 1948 as Clara Marie Groves, in Dec 1970 as Clara Marie Schrof and in Jan 1998 as Clara M. Graves. She died 22 Dec 1997. He last residence was Pontiac, Illinois.

PONTIAC - The Funeral Service For Clara M. Graves, 81, of Pontiac will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, Pontiac, with the Rev. E. Edward Higgins officiating. Burial will be in the South Side Cemetery in Pontiac. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac, with the rosary being recited at 5 p.m. She died at 9:30 a.m. Monday (Dec. 22, 1997) at OSF Saint James Hospital in Pontiac. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's School, Livingston Manor or a charity of the donor's choice. She was born on March 2, 1916, in Eppards Point Township, the daughter of Francis E. and Virginia (Harrington) McCarty. She married Harold Graves on April 9, 1947, in Ottawa. He died Dec. 29, 1992. She is survived by one son, Larry F. Graves, Pontiac. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Brett, Shawnna, Amber, Jason and Carley Graves. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, John and Eugene McCarty. Mrs. Graves had been a resident of Livingston Manor since 1992. She was educated at Ohio grade schools and at Pontiac High School. She managed the Square Cafe for 10 years and retired from the Pontiac Elks Club in 1981. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Pontiac; Women of the Moose; VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Daughters of Isabella of the church.

Virginia Louise Evans Berdine, age 95, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at Savannah Court of Maitland, Florida. She was fortunate to have her great-niece, Elaine Emerson Maxwell, by her side. Virginia was born January 1, 1920 in Midway, Florida (near Zolfo Springs) to the late Addison Leonidas Evans Jr. and Emily Gertrude (Simpson) Evans. In 1962, Virginia married her second husband, Clarence Eugene Berdine. She worked as a telephone operator and spent much of her free time with her family at her mother's house on Main Street in Leesburg, Florida. She and her husband remained together in Leesburg until Clarence's passing in 1981. Virginia was an avid reader and she volunteered at the Leesburg Food Bank. She also enjoyed genealogy and family history. She was a member of Lake Square Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents and her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Evans Welles, Eleanor Evans McClenithan, William Fred Evans, and Addison Leonidas Evans, III; as well as her niece, Joan McClenithan Emerson. The final years of her life, Virginia resided in Maitland, Florida, near Joan and her great niece, Elaine Maxwell. Joan and Elaine were able to spend a great deal of time with Virginia and ensured that she received the finest care. Virginia is survived by her nephew, Addison "Lee" Evans, IV; her niece, (Gertrude) Trudi Evans Fauchier; four grand-nieces; three grand-nephews; and many great grand-nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb 26, 2015 at 11am at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg.

He was a car salesman and a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Leesburg. Survivors: wife, Virginia; son, Scott P., Dallas, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Clara Lawrence, Valparaiso, Ind., Mrs. Florence Lanther, Detroit, Mich. Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg.
