Robert J. Alm "Buttsy" Lowell, Indiana Age 82, of Lowell, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Marcele "Marcy" Alm; 1 daughter, Marcia (Mike) Quale of Lowell; 3 sons, Flint (Jamie) Alm of Crown Point, Fred (John) Alm of Monon, George Alm of S. Lake Tahoe, CA; 5 grandchildren, Brian (Shannon) Quale of Lowell, Amber Alm of Crown Point, Kevin (Christine) Quale of Lowell, Robert (Becca) Alm of St. John, Brent (Kelli) Alm of Corydon, Indiana; 5 great-grandchildren, Colton, Brayden and Hannah Quale, Mason and Flint Alm; 3 sisters, Helen O'Kelley of Elgin, IL, Louise (Bill) Newby of St. Charles, IL, Shirley (Ed) Ehorn of Ozark, MO; 2 brothers, Charles Alm of Lafayette, James (Sandy) Alm of Hanna, IN; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one sister, Marion Alm and 2 brothers, Ed and Richard Alm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 15, at 11:00 A.M., at Sheets Funeral Home, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell, IN. Pastor Tami Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Lowell Memorial Cemetery in Lowell. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 3-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Robert was a 1945 graduate of Lowell High School and retired from Linde Air in East Chicago. In 1951, he painted the winning car of the Indianapolis 500. Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lowell and a 50 year member of both the Colfax Lodge in Lowell and the Eastern Star in Monticello. He was a former umpire, coach and manager for the Lowell Little League.
