In 1900, Cooper Bodine lived in Shelbina, Shelby County, Missouri engaged as a hardware dealer. He reported that in 4 years of marriage his wife had borne one child, their son Richard, who was living with them. In Sept 1918, Cooper Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. Cooper Bodine founded the C. P. Bodine Lumber Company of Memphis and served as its first president until his death.
