Notes for: Elsie (Elsje) Bogart

This is a guess based upon the Readington baptisms. Abraham (Frederick's brother) and wife, Marytje, had a daughter baptised on August 19, 1755. They named her Saertje. This is the name of Frederick's wife. This may mean that his first wife, Sarah, passed away around 1755. This would go along with the old Dutch naming custom of naming children after recently deceased relatives. Frederick would have married soon after, having his first child in 1756.

Notes on Various Old Somerset Families - Vroom Family. The wife of Col. Peter Dumont Vroom, Elsie Bogert, was born October 12, 1755, and died April 17, 1823. She was the daughter of Guysbert Bogart, who was born about 1720 and died July 28, 1785, and of Elizabeth Bodine, his wife.

Coincidence has me reading your posting, but I have Frederick Bodine, father of Gilbert/Geisbert/Guysbert born 1763 died 1838 Chester NJ, marrying Elsie (Elsje) Bogart about 1750.
