Notes for: Lemme ("Lune," Lammetje) Cozine

The inscription on her tombstone in Niles says, "Lemme, w of John Bodine." Her will may have been written on August 5, 1786 in Straban Township, York County, Pennsylvania. (Does she mention her father?) She may be from Buschwick, Kings County, New York. Info at the Conover genealogy site says she was born about 1754 and died in 1808. If true, that would mess my info up quite a bit. Her name was given as "Lune" in her father's will.

All the following info was sent to me by Sherron Westerfield (sherronw@searnet.com).

They had [at least] nine children, all baptized at Conewego Colony, PA.

Cornelius - bapt. 27 May 1770

Johannes - bapt. 31 May 1772

Marya (Maria) - bapt. 17 Apr 1774

Johannes - bapt. 7 Jul 1776

Ailtye - bapt. 17 Jan 1779

Elizabeth - bapt. 29 Jul 1780

Sarah - bapt. 26 Jan 1783

Peter - bapt. 8 Jan 1785

Maria - bapt. 25 Mar 1787. Sponsors at the baptism of this last child,
born 4 months after the death of John Bodine, were Lune's sister,
Altie, and brother-in-law, Simon Van Arsdale.
