Hi Dave,
My name is Jennifer Hallett, I live in Boston, Ont. Canada, and am a descendant of these people. I had researched several lines of my family tree a few years ago and come up with this.
Mahlon Bodine. b: 18-11-1813 @ Simcoe,Ontario (legend has it, in the back of a covered wagon?) son of Abraham and Zellah. married Roxanne Wade b: 05-02-1815 @ Grimsby, Ontario, daughter of Bryant Edwin Wade and Nancy Kitchen. They had 3 girls, that I know of. Orpha Amelia Bodine died @ Fingal, Ontario, Helen Matilda Bodine who died 17-03-1865, buried @ Fingal, Ontario and Nancy Amanda Bodine born 23-04-1840 @ Fingal, Ontario, died 21-11-1916, she married William Page, born 1843 in Upper Canada (Ontario), who was son of James and Mary Page of Surry, England. Nancy Amanda Bodine and William Page were my great-great grandparents. I hope this is of some use to somebody and will gladly answer any ?'s.
Respectfully yours,
Mrs. Jennifer Hallett
Mahlon's tombstone says,
His days are past, his work is done
he fought the fight, the victory won.
The article "Is This Your Line?" by Eva Murrell Harmison about Abraham Bodine of Pennsylvania and Ontario says he was born enroute to Fingal, Ontario. It says he was born at Cayuga, Haldimand Co., Ontario.
