In 1880, Mary and Viola Bodine and their son Leo lived in Hunter Township, Edgar County, Illinois in the home of Viola's father, Joel Dyer. In 1900, Mark Bodine lived with his wife and 5 children in Walnut, Crawford County, Kansas engaged in farming. He reported that in 22 years of marriage his wife had borne 5 children, all then living. In 1910, he lived with his wife and 2 children in Larned Township, Pawnee County, Kansas and reported that his 5 children were all still living. In 1920, Mark worked as a house carpenter in Larned Township.
