Subject: Richard Thomas- Sarah Thomas McMakin

Dear David,
It has been some time since I last corresponded with you. We moved to Dover, NH a year ago and I am once again up to my neck in researching my New England ancestors but have not forgotten my southern side of the family. Something that might be of interest to you is that on Charles W. Henderson's death certificate, ( son of John T. and Mary (Duncan) Henderson) his mother's name was stated as Ellen Mary Duncan, not just Mary Duncan. I also have found from her children's death certificates differing places of birth for her, one states she was born in VA, another gives MD. I also have different versions as to how Samuel Henderson who married Any/Amy Evans came to be in Loudoun, VA, one version being that he came from another part of Va which I think unlikely as I have exhausted most of the VA Hendersons, and the other was that he was a Scotch Irish immigrant who landed in NJ who travelled to Loudoun, VA with allied family. I do have him in Loudoun by 1759 when his first son was born there.
I am interested to know what documentation you have for Sarah ( Thomas ) McMakin being the daughter of Richard Thomas? Do you have any dates or locations for the Thomas family? How and where did you get the name? I will try to research the name further if I have a little more information.

Thanks,

Posey Godfrey
