Notes for: Joseph Smith

They appear on the Copiah County, Census of 1840 and are shown as part of the Francis Prine family in 1850. A Mrs. Nancy Smith married Francis Prine on November 22, 1846. The ages of the Prine children shown in 1850 match up with those of the Smith children from 1840. Francis apparently died prior to 1860 to 1860 for the Smith children and also Nancy's name all revert back to Smith. Another Nancy Smith also marries an Elihu Prine August 19, 1847. The William Prine on the 1860 Census with Sarah was probably a son of this marriage.
