Notes for: George Washington ("Todd") Manley, Sr.

George Washington "Todd" Manley, born October 23, 1846, son of Andrew R.and Sarah Ann Warren Manley, enlisted in the Union Army on August 15,1863. He served in Company C, 40th Regiment of the Kentucky Militia. He contracted typoid fever while in the line of duty followed by an infection of the spine which affected him for the rest of his life. He returned to Bath County where he lived out the rest of his life. He died September 11, 1918 and is buried in Longview Cemetery at Bethel, Kentucky.
