COLEMAN (RNS) - Funeral for John D. Bodine, 48; will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Stevens Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Traylor, retired pastor,
officiating, assisted by the Rev. Archie Phillips, pastor of the North Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Bodine, a longtime employee of the Central Colorado River Authority, died Tuesday morning in Coleman. He became ill at his work with the Martin Brick Co. and was driving home. He suffered an apparent heart attack and his car left the road and hit a parked pick-up in the 400 Block of Gray St. Mr. Bodine was dead at the scene.
Justice of the Peace Waller C. Holt said Wednesday night that he was awaiting an autopsy report before making a decision on the cause of death.
The body was sent to Abilene about 8 a.m. Wednesday for autopsy.
Born April 6, 1921, in Coleman, he had lived all his life in the county.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Ogles of Rome, Ga., and Miss Janice Bodine of the home; a son, Johnny of Fort Polk, La.; four brothers, Norman of Irving, Gene of Norman, Ark., Doyle of Mount Ida, Ark., and Joe of Chandler, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
